This caught my eye beside the front door of a hotel.
‘RBS’ and ‘Credit Crunch’ are emotionally loaded words to include. I think that’s why I love the honest and candid stance taken.
Instead of your traditional “this [establishment] was opened on such and such date by so and so dignitary” they have captured the essence of a story. It says so much with so few words.
When rapport is generated, and a connection made, real personality can shine through. Your influence and messages become so much stronger.
If you’re doing any of the following list this week, ask yourself… “How can I get a closer personal connection with this person?”
It’ll impact the results of whatever you’re wanting to achieve:
- Negotiate something
- Increase sales performance
- Persuade someone to see your point of view
- Inspire more creativity in your team
- Hit a tight deadline for someone
- Find yourself more time in the day
Pulitzer Prize Winner Stuart Diamond, puts a real focus on this human connection – his book Getting More is well worth a read. Ignore the brash title – he’s loaded it with integrity and the techniques are exquisite!
